I think Delaine Eastin was the person who reminded all of us that we still had that "Someday We'll Go to the Moon" book on our library shelves, and then got us the funds to replace those old books.

For those of you who missed Eastin's term in office, here is an indication of her passion.

For those who were there, it is a reminder.

Remember, this is a "non-partisan" office.  Eastin demonstrated that when she worked in the legislature with Bob Craven to create the school library check-off on the income tax form, and again when she worked with Pete Wilson to create the line item for school library materials.
