I keep smiling at all these posts because in my 23 years at this wealthy school district in Marin, the biggest offender was our principal of many years. She owed us hundreds, nay probably thousands, of dollars by the time she left. She gave the books to
her own kids who attended another school district, neighbors, kids she tutored, whomever. And when she wasn't stealing our books, she was copying them on the printer and spiral binding them to use as class sets. She would just tell me to look the other
way.
