I would like to add my voice to the voting issue. As a member of the ALA 2009 nominating committee, I worked hard to get school librarians to run for Council. We really should support those who agreed to allow their names on the ballot.
In addition to voting for our own this year, you may want to consider allowing your name to be brought forth in the next election. I know it is difficult for school folks to attend the ALA conference, but the number of council meetings has been reduced. This means less days one must be at the conference. The idea may be worth investigating. If you are at all interested, go to http://ala.org and take a look at the opportunities to serve your profession.
Please vote!
