The World Digital Library has launched - http://www.wdl.org/en/ Read about it here on the project page http://project.wdl.org/project/english/index.html and in the announcement from the Library of Congress http://www.loc.gov/today/pr/2009/09-082.html . It looks like a fantastic resource and a world-wide cooperative project.
