Dear CALIB friends,

It's not too late to propose a concurrent session for our annual CSLA
Conference in Ontario in November. We know that many of you have great
ideas and we want to give you a little more time to submit your
proposals. We also know that a few of you have encountered software
glitches and we want to be sure that technical difficulties don't
hamper your ability to propose a session. So, we have extended the
deadline until Friday, May 8.

Please visit the CSLA website http://www.csla.net or go directly to
the proposal link at http://csla.aaiden.com to propose a concurrent
session. This year's conference theme is "Embrace the Serendipity of
Learning." We want session presenters from past conferences, but we
also want fresh, new voices. If you submitted a proposal in the past
but weren't invited to speak, and you can rework it to fit this year's
theme or you have a new idea, submit a new proposal.

If you have any questions about proposal topics, please contact our
concurrent session chairs, Joan Kramer, joan.kramer at lausd.net or Ellen
Whelpton, whlptn at aol.com. If you encounter any glitches or need help
with the online submission form, please contact Carolyn Tienken, our
Conference and Exhibits Coordinator, at carolynt at csla.net or by phone
at the CSLA office at (916) 447-2684. She will make sure you get your
proposal in.

Finally, if you are hesitating because you aren't sure if your school
will send you to the conference this year, remember that being a
presenter is a great way to show your administrators the value of your
attendance, and being a presenter will help defray the cost of
attending. CSLA members receive 50 percent off registration for each
session presented.

And, don't forget to visit our conference wiki at http://csla2009.wikispaces.com/
. Our conference social networking guru, Marie Slim, is constantly
adding great new content. Right now, be sure to visit to see the add
and get information about auditioning to perform in Library Follies, a
not-to-be missed Broadway musical review that will be staged during
the Conference President's Reception. The deadline for auditions is
May 15.

With best wishes,

Jane Lofton
CSLA 2009 Conference Chair
