I did not enter my texts into Destiny but another program however; I did
it by hand as well. I put a computer complete with wand on a stand with
wheels and went to the tables where I had my texts stacked rather than
going back and forth. If you use an excel worksheet then you just need
to scan and sort. Much easier and faster.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Destiny textbook entries

I read some of the comments in Joy Millam posting regarding using
Destiny and though others might benefit from some of the experiences I
encountered. For various reasons I needed to enter textbooks that were
barcoded but not entered into Destiny. As an alternative to individually
adding the textbooks I organized the books by title using Excel
worksheets and scanned the barcodes into Excel, sorted and then found
ranges of barcode numbers and enter the textbooks using the barcode
ranges which took weeks off the entry process. I did have books that
did not fall into ranges and did enter some individually or in small
groups but it was physically easier than transporting each book to the
circulation desk to enter. I hope this helps.
