Hi all,

We are getting a vBrick on demand video distribution system for our 3 high
schools. This will allow teachers to use their computers to show digital
video over the network. Since I will be coordinating the curriculum and
content at the school, I have been going to the meetings. At one meeting, I
asked where the content was coming from and the salesman said "you can
digitize what ever you already have." I said that was expressly against
copyright. He mentioned the Teach Act which has to do with distance learning
and it not applicable in this situation.

I now feel like I pointed out that the Emperor had not clothes. No one has
any clue what content is going on this system. It seems that to begin with
it will be a very expensive delivery system for our weekly school produced
news show.

Does anyone have any information on vendors, distributors, licensing
options, cost etc for curriculum based, on demand, digital video content?

I would greatly appreciate any info you might have. If you are using this
type of system already, would you mind contacting me off list so we can
chat.

Thank you,

Becky
