OCLC also has an experimental website up, called OCLC Classify, where you can enter a title, ISBN, etc., and they will tell you what Dewey number has been assigned by other libraries who own the book. It's not the "official" Dewey number necessarily, but it definitely helps me make decisions sometimes. Just keep an eye on the Dewey version number -- if the book is older, it hasn't necessarily been recataloged to a newer Dewey (we are currently on 22).

I find it very useful -- give it a try. http://deweyresearch.oclc.org/classify2/

Subject: [CALIBK12] Dewey search tool

Does anyone know of a website that allows
one to enter a topic (like say "wombats") and get a Dewey classification
verdict?

Thanks for any leads!
