[CALIBK12] Radio frequency Vs Electromagnetic library security system

Our district is building it's first high school.  I have been researching and getting quotes on the two types of systems.  Radio frequency is quite a bit cheaper.  One librarian told me she thought radio frequency was better but then I hear the opposite.  I don't like the idea of having to cover up the little strip with a date due card. But the more reasonable price is attractive. I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions you have about the two systems and how to make them work most efficiently.
