Does your library have electronic databases? If so, then have parents
sign-up for demonstrations on "how to use" those databases....there are
some useful resources that are often unknown to most students and
parents. Once they learn how to use them, then they can access them
from home for homework, report writing etc.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Public Library Collaboration

Over the last few years we have developed a wonderful relationship with
our local public libraries. Some of our school sites hold an annual
Family Night at the public library. We have included tours, library
bingo, and storytellers as part of these family nights.

Have any of you held family nights at your local public libraries? If
so, what type of activities have you included?

Thank you, Amber

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and
find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child
learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open."

-- Laura Bush, First Lady

"I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind
of people who think decorating consists mostly of building
enough bookshelves."
--Anna Quindlen
