Hello All,
I don't know if this has already been discussed on Calib, but I ran
across this article just now in E-School News & wondered whether teacher
librarians were/will be represented in planning process. ISTE was
mentioned...maybe it's more of an AASL thing, since it's nationwide, tho
WestEd itself is mostly in CA, isn't it?
On the Way: Nation's First Tech Literacy Exam

"...with this assistance, WestEd plans to convene two committees that
will include technology experts, engineers, teachers, scientists,
business representatives, state and local policy makers, and employers
from across the country. The committees will advise WestEd on the
content and design of the national tech literacy assessment..."
Also, does anyone know how this relates to what the Educational Testing
Service (ETS) was doing with testing information technology skills,
etc.?

AND, what are anyone's thoughts on all of this--? My first response
is--wow--they're acknowledging some important issues about skills
students need to have & that we teach, but then I think--yikes (!)
Another test!
