[CALIBK12] TARGET: call number for e-books

We are late getting into the 'biz' with e-books. But, now we have
acquired several novels in e-book format.

We think we will put the case on the shelf with the disc behind the
counter. So what call number do you assign? My understanding of call
numbers, is that it identifies location in the library. So in our
district we use R for reference, V for video and DVD.

So that being said, if we think we will shelve them along with the other
fiction we should just go with that call number and have the electronic
part just show in the MARC record?

We're trying not to have too many 'special collections' since we want
students to easily transition from school libraries to public. And, we
cannot use E because that unfortunately is being used for picture books
which are not easy but that's another story. So, ...?

I know there are other 'anal' types out there. What do you think?
