I was selected as a Teacher of the Year at my school in my second year as the Teacher Librarian.  While I was not selected District or County Teacher of the Year then, it was still a wonderful honor to be selected by the more than 100 teachers at my site.  In my previous district, as a classroom teacher, I had been a District Teacher of the Year and finalist for Riverside County Teacher of the Year.

Perhaps you should print that and have a conversation with your Principal on Tuesday.  Congratuations on the nomination and good luck!

I have a question that may open up a can of worms, but here goes...

One of my colleagues nominated me to be our school's nominee for County Teacher of the Year, but our principal won't submit my name because it is for classroom teachers. I was a classroom teacher until June 2008 and am now the TL at my school. Does anyone know if TLs have ever been County Teacher of the Year?
