[CALIBK12] audiobooks

I have been experimenting here with audiobooks
I purchased 10 1 GB MP3 players for about $10 each including shipping, and I
loaded a free audiobook classic from Librivox on each one. (www.librivox.com)
I am still working on the package to get them into our system, but the books
and sound quality is excellent. Some of the books are:
Treasure Island
Jane Eyre
Adv. of Tom Sawyer
Adv. of Huckleberry FInn
Oh Pioneers
Wizard of Oz
Folk and fairy tales

There are lots. Librivox recordings vary in quality, but all are listenable.
I tried to pick books that are "solo" readings.
The players are about 3 cm x2 cm x.75 cm (small) and have no screen. The
charge lasts about half a book, then you recharge by plugging in to USB
port. They look just like some ones I saw at Best Buy for $59.95 each - even
the same colors. There's barely room for a label on the clip. If a book is
not popular or gets corrupted, we can just downoad another one.
Playaways are awfully expensive, but they are easier.
