Connie (and George): My principal just came into the library to ask me to research a similar question: What about purchasing audiobooks on CD and having students listen to them w/ headphones on library computers-with the book in front of them as they listen? She wants the listening to happen in the library for those students who just can't seem to read a book on their own (sigh...).
My principal also asked me whether these purchased CDs could be loaded onto our server so that more than 1 student may listen to a book at a time (I KNOW I can't make copies...). Anyone have any experience/input/suggestions on this?
Thanks so much in advance. I really appreciate you all! Have a great day...

Hello all!
Have any of you downloaded audiobooks via audible.com for your students? How successful was it? How did you pay for it? What 'plan' did you use?
I'm trying to explore the best way to get audio books to teens - what is the best combination of formats to use? Follett has CD-mp3 books that look cool, but do most kids really have an mp3 player do you think?
I guess my question is: do you buy cd, playaways or mp3 formats for your students in high school?
P.S. None of the kids at my school had a cassette player available to them except in their car....
Thanks for your help.
Connie
