[CALIBK12] Special Needs TA

[Adamich, Susan]

I have a new Library TA with physical challenges. She has Cerebral Palsy
and is in a wheelchair. She is a pretty sharp girl, loves to read, and
is eager to help. She is fully mainstreamed in classes. If you have had
any experience with a physically challenged student assistant, please
send me some ideas, advice and suggestions. So far she has read the
shelves, but has some difficulty pulling heavy books out and moving them
to the correct spot. I am trying to modify the tasks for her that I give
the other TA's. Thanks.
