I realize that many of us are off-list or on vacation, but those who are
still on, please do me a simple favor:
Without looking it up -
Were you taught Longfellow's poem of Hiawatha in (K-12) school? (yes or no)
Have you read this poem to any students? (yes or no)
If so, what do you recall having learned (or any impressions) about Native
Americans from this poem?
You can add any other comments you wish at this point.
I need input for research for another venue - I will not include any names
or other identifying info with it.
I am just interested to know how many of us recall anything about this
"classic" poem and whether is still taught/read aloud at school.
Okay, now you can look it up if you wish! (Please don't change your
answers!)
Thank you,
Joanne Ladewig (A.K.A. "Library Lady")
