Dear CALIBbers,

I hope you are all enjoying a restful summer. As library people, I am
sure you all have reading as a high priority on your summer list. The
CSLA Conference Committee would like to encourage you to read "Brag:
The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It" by Peggy Klaus
(paperback edition by Business Plus, 2004) in preparation for a "One
Conference, One Book" discussion during our Annual Conference in
November. This book will provide us all with good advice on how to
promote school libraries (and ourselves, when called for) to our
stakeholders, and we can build on those ideas by comparing notes at
the conference.

Thanks to Jeanne Nelson for suggesting the title in an earlier CALIB
posting, and to Connie Williams for offering to chair the discussion
during the conference. We will let you know details about the time for
the discussion in a future posting.

with best wishes,

Jane Lofton
CSLA 2009 Conference Chair
