[CALIBK12] CALIBK12: Target: Off Topic (sort of)- Work permits

Hello all,

As part of my "other duties," I'm in charge of handling the applications for students' work permits and then giving them the actual permit. The process itself is not that difficult, but it is time consuming. We often also have situations where a student comes in 2 minutes before we close demanding the permit RIGHT NOW because they are supposed to start work that night. I have notices posted on our website saying we require 1 school day to process them, and I also stick a note on each application I hand out that says the same thing. But everyone always wants an exception.

Does anyone else handle work permits? If so, could you share some advice on how you streamline the process, deal with last-minute requests, etc. Thanks!
