[CALIBK12] Author Visit: Margarita Engle

I keep meaning to post about our visit from Margarita Engle. Margarita is the winner of back-to-back Pura Belpre Awards as well a Newbery Honor for this past year. Her writing focus is Cuba (as she is a Cuban-American). Margarita is a poet who writes her books in verse. She is the author of three books:

The Surrender Tree: Poems of Cuba's Struggle for Freedome
The Poet Slave of Cuba
Tropical Secrets: Holocaust Refugees in Cuba

Cost is very reasonable (particularly the closer you are to the Fresno/Clovis area). Please email me should you want further details.
