[CALIBK12] General introduction to school libraries

I love our CSLA Standards and Where Do I Start? from the Santa Clara County Office of Education and Linworth Publishing (2001).  Where Do I Start? is a little dated, but has a little bit of everything:  Marketing, Collection Devel., Booktalking, Info. Literacy, "Internet", Library Procedures, Automation, Cataloging and even a glossary.

"This is the age of the open-source encyclopedia.  Words like 'research' and 'corroborated' now mean whatever the majority says they mean.  Personally, I'm voting for 'research' to mean 'speculation' and 'corroborated' to mean 'a zesty sour cream-based dip.'"

I have been asked for a book recommendation by someone who wants a good, general introduction to all the pieces of our job. Is there one book that includes all of the essential pieces (circulation, reference, cataloging, etc.)?

In looking through my own library, I have many good books, but they tend to be only on reference, only on cataloging, etc.
