If your district blocks tinyurls, here's the
complete link to the essay on BEARSTONE:

And if your district blocks blogs, write to me
directly at debreese at illinois.edu and I'll paste it into an email reply to you.

There is so much in Haladay's essay to think
about.... how Hobbs Native protagonist has no
sensitivity regarding human remains. It doesn't
add up, yet, the book got such acclaim! Why or
why can't people think critically about the ways
that American Indians are portrayed in children's and YA lit?!

Thanks,
Debbie
