PLEASE FORGIVE CROSS-POSTINGS

Hello to everyone out in summer vacation land, and all those on year-round school calendars (like me):

I was recently working on my library calendar of events and was poking around on the Scholastic Book Fair website when I found something interesting.

Apparently, Scholastic now offers something called a Title I Book Fair that caters to urban schools with low-income students. According to the website, "...we have addressed the need to provide a wide selection of high interest books at affordable prices. Most of the books are priced below $5.00, and we even include a special case filled with $2.00 and $3.00 books so every child and parent can participate."

This sounds great, but I do have a few questions for anyone out there that has hosted one of these book fairs.

1) Is it a themed book fair, or like a BOGO (wherein all the materials they send simply say "Come to the Scholastic Book Fair")?

2) Did you receive a percentage of the sales (like a regular fair) or a set voucher amount (like a BOGO)?

3) Did your students like the selection of books? Did you?

4) Would you do it again (ie. was it worth your time and effort)?

I have hosted Scholastic book fairs several fairs now, but this is the first I've heard of this type of fair. Any information the list can provide will the be greatly appreciated, and I will post a hit.

TIA,
