Just so we understand what Modesto is giving up:

"Through his leadership, Modesto City Schools became one of the few large districts to maintain libraries with a fully credentialed librarian at all K-12 school sites. He has been named "Distinguished School Administrator of the Year" by the 20,000-member American Association of School Librarians for his contributions in advancing the role of the school library as an agency for the improvement of education."

It is official. They have cut 8.5 LMT and 7 Library Assistant position in the
Modesto City School District. We spoke on all of the important points but there
were no motions from the board to remove any of the items on the cut list.

Shde did say librarians, not library clerks. I am assumed she was
talking about
certificated LMTs.
