There are a lot of great choices out there. Here are some suggestions
for HS just off the top of my head:
-Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurson
-Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
-Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
-Eva Luna by Isabel Allende
-Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice
-The People of the Mammoth (or any in this series) by Michael Gear and
Kathleen O'Neil Gear
-A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
-The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
-Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flag
-Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry by Mildred B. Taylor
-A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking
-Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence
-The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
-The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong
-Silent Spring by Rachel Carson
-A Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Michael Dorris
-Johnny Tremain by Ester Forbes
-All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
-The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank
-His Dark Mysteries (series) - The Golden Compass, the Subtle Knife, the
Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman (a lot of philosophy, chances to really
discuss complex topics, but controversial because of author's beliefs)
-The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen
-The Crucible by Arthur Miller
-Beloved by Toni Morrison
-I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
-Cry, the Beloved Country Alan Paton
-Monster by Walter Dean Myers

Subject: [CALIBK12] Book List Needed
Hello Everyone,
I am in need for great book lists - but not for reluctant readers -
completely the opposite. I need lists preferably already made up and
reviewed for kids reading way above their reading level - but are still
in their interest level.
I need it for elementary, MS, and HS - so all grade levels - The list
could be fiction or non-fiction.
Thank you for your help.
Have a marvelous week.
Peter
