School Media Associates, located in Georgia, 800-451-5226 will email you
a list of titles they have on different subjects, but it might not be a
very discriminating list.
They are a media jobber.
I loved BBC's Planet Earth for illustrating the biomes.
Winged Migration - for sheer beauty
Earth Revealed series --- Annenberg -- college cource - might have
appropriate sections. There is information about how to deal with
protecting aquifers.
NOVA World in the Balance: The Population Paradox" from WGBH
NOVA "Earth's Magnetic Field - reversing, or something like that.
Who Killed the Electric Car?
A Crude Awakening: the Oil Crash - Winner Zurich Film prize. This is
excellent. I have watched it 3 or 4 times. Docuramafilms. 85
minutes. A must have!
NOVA: Solar Energy: saved by the sun WGBH
Planet in Peril: A CNN worldwide investigation (The story the world
can't afford to ignore) CNN. I have not seen this one yet.
I would love to see your "hit list" when you get one. We have a teacher
here at Piedmont Hills High School who would like to teach AP
Environmental Science.

Subject: [CALIBK12] AP Environmental Science Course
Greetings,
We are preparing for a new AP Environmental Science Course and would
appreciate your recommendations for DVDs. We're particularly looking
for something similar to the Race to Save the Planet series which has
been discontinued (and is out of date). Any assistance is appreciated.

threshold, that magic threshold into a library, we change their lives
forever, for the better. It's an enormous force for good." -- Barack
Obama
"I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness
about the underpinnings of our culture, and our concern for the future
can all be tested by how well we support our libraries." - Carl Sagan,
