My daughters are violinists, so Music of the Heart is one of my favorites.... But if you like the sports edge to it, Remember the Titans and Rudy are also great!  Sports movies are always great metaphors for everything in life...

The movie is "The Great Debaters" with Denzel Washington.  It is  based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College in Texas.  In 1935, he inspired students to form the school's first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship.  It's a great movie, very inspiring.

and I remember watching a movie about debating with two guys from a poorly performing school in LA who went on to place well in the National debate tournament, it may have been a documentary.
