[CALIBK12] ALA elections

Sorry for my last incomplete response. I hit "send" instead of "delete." 
It seems that we should have started this a tad earlier because some of us 
may have voted earlier.

Presidential candidates who were school librarians have lost elections 
because AASL members do not often vote. How can you tell? If you look at 
the number of votes cast for AASL officers you get a fair idea of that 
number although not all school librarians are AASL members. Some choose to 
join ALSC or YALSA instead rather than in addition. The current president 
of ALSC is a school librarian in South Carolina.

More of us should bite the bullet and join CSLA if we aren't members and 
then bit that bigger bullet and join ALA and AASL as well so that 
California school librarians have a national voice as well as a state and 
local one.
