[CALIBK12] citation help

Of course, the citation can depend on how specific the teacher wants it to be.  Having said that,  the article is in a book, so I would cite the book.  Most teachers just want to be able to get to where the article is located.  Other than that, it can be cited as an article in an anthology would be cited.

I am hoping the collective brain can help me with this. 

 

I have Honors Biology students in the library today beginning a research
project. One of them managed to find an article in a book that was
excerpted from a university website with permission of the author. I
often find articles online that were originally in print but have never
seen this before. I've been looking in the MLA Handbook, but haven't
found anything yet. 

 

Any ideas? I've told the student she is in running for the "stump the
librarian" award. I hope she doesn't stump all of you as well.
