Hello everyone-
I am writing to inquire about author, illustrator, and storyteller visits. I am in the process of planning Campbell Hall’s Book Week celebration scheduled for April 2010.
First, I would like to know if anyone has hosted the author/illustrator, Matt Faulkner, at a school library visit. I am considering contacting him with regards to a visit next April where I would like him work with our elementary student (K-6). If he has visited your school, please tell me about the visit. How many students did he work with? Did he present a lecture in an assembly? Did he work with small groups (22 children)? Was he engaging? Overall, on a scale of 1-10 how was the visit. What was the strongest point? Was there a weak spot? Did you sell his books in conjunction with the visit?
Secondly, is there an author, illustrator, or storyteller that you would like to recommend to me? If so, what were their strengths and describe the visit. (Thanks, I don’t need an essay, just a few points or thoughts.)
I appreciate any insights you can offer about Matt Faulkner and any other author or illustrator recommendations.
Thanks,
Linda Pechin
