[CALIBK12] Embedded Intervention

Good afternoon - I am curious to know if any other high schools have
tried this type of intervention with your student body.  Beginning next
year, our schedule will reflect an additional 20 minutes added to one
period every day except Wednesday.  So, period 1 will have 20 additional
minutes on Monday, period 2 on Tuesday, etc.  The purpose is to address
the needs of kids who are failing or just need additional assistance in
class.  It is similar to a tutorial period, but a tad more focused.

 

I am attaching the initial plan (definitely a work in progress) for
information purposes.  My question to you would be how does the library
fit into this scenario?  What type of role should the librarian fill in
this schedule?  In reality, what has your role been?

 

Do you have any suggestions for me to consider as our school moves
toward this schedule?

 

I appreciate your help.  Please feel free to reply off list and I will
create a hit list if necessary.
