Would you please consider taking a quick look at this remarkable tool and if
you like, share it with your staff and students?

Wordsift
Go to http://www.wordsift.com and click on the button right below the
paste-in box (clear your cache if it does not say “Obama Press Conference
Opening Statement”), and press SIFT, and do a visual exploration. Click on
the different words in the cloud, and the sentences in the screen below will
show where the words were used in the press conference. Click on the
sentence, and it will show where the sentence was used in the whole text.

Please pass this free on to anyone you think would find it useful –
especially teachers interested in fun ways to build vocabulary.

In a few weeks, we will be announcing the next version, which will enable
you to sort the words by frequency in the English language, and also to mark
words that are from the General Service List and from different content
areas (math, science, language arts, social studies), in addition to the
Academic Word List.
