[CALIBK12] Printing Dilemma, Part 2

I just visited the new joint use library at Vista del Lago HS in Folsom. The students send print jobs to a computer (apparently a print server) located near the printers. They then go to that computer, select their own job and put change into the coin slot and the selection prints. Don't know any other details, however. There ar only a tech for the school, and two city employees running that library.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Printing Dilemma, Part 2

Dear Colleagues,
As many of you are doing, we are looking for solutions to the printing dilemma. We don't currently charge for printing but my principal has asked me to investigate the possibility of doing so. (Students have printed nearly 11,000 pages in the past two months. Yikes!) We've superficially looked at GoPrint, VendPrint and similar solutions.
Does anyone know if any of the copier companies provide printers/copiers with coin boxes/card readers that could be used to charge for printing? Do they keep the money and maintain the printer for you (provide paper, toner, etc), as many companies do for copiers? Does anyone else think this sounds like a workable solution? Does anyone think I use too many question marks in one paragraph?????

Thank you for any advice.
